Morgan Atherton.

A legend in his own crime, so became Morgan Atherton. The talk of the town, Morgan became the talk of the town after his little caper during the Duck Derby'.

Let me explain:

Saltburn By the Sea, Local Time

Annually, each year, in the pretty little town of Saltburn by the Sea an event known locally as the 'Duck Derby', takes place. This involves purchasing a ticket that attests to you being the owner of the ticket issued to indicate that your duck No. is 'n' and that your duck will be entered into the competition known locally as The Duck Derby'.

From the map reference herein you will not be surprised to observe that the above is a load of 'nonsense', what actually occurs, should you involve yourself in the adrenalin addictive activity of 'The Duck Derby' is that you purchase a ticked that signifies that the duck with your ticket number on its arse is competing on your behalf. The duck is not a real duck, it is a moulded plastic replica of a duck, possible a mallard named after the fastest steam engine in the world.

Mallard: LNER Class A4 4468 Mallard is the holder of the world speed record for steam locomotives at 126 mph (203 km/h). The record was achieved on 3 July 1938 on the slight downward grade of Stoke Bank south of Grantham on the East Coast Main Line, and the highest speed was recorded at milepost 90, between Little Bytham and Essendine)., manufactured in Taiwan the plastic replica ducks, in similar manner to real ducks float on water.

If good fortune is with you the duck competing on your behalf will adopt the British Standard Floating Duck Pose and 'keep it's head above water' so to speak.

All the plastic replica ducks are, amid wild cheers from the crowd, and some derisive remarks from the local criminal youth, released into the Saltburn by the Sea, beck, at or near the model railway terminal, that's the old terminal not the new one. Upon release the moulded plastic ducks are left to the mercy of the 'beck' current that sweeps them wilily-nilly northward in a gay jumble of yellow bobbing Taiwan plastic. Taiwan: Latitudes 25.105497 Longitude 121.597366 Taiwan time GMT//UTC + 8h standard time.

The ducks now at the whim of the flow dash heedlessly toward the open maw of the untameable North Sea.

The first Taiwanese moulded plastic duck to arrive at the Ice-cream Cafe Barrage is deemed to have been the duck representing the purchaser of the ticket that bares the same number as the duck has painted on it's arse.

No definite records have been kept of the Saltburn by the Sea, (a pretty little town), annual 'Duck Derby yet there are rumours that on at least one occasion the event was won by a person not on the organising committee.
